Last updated 11 August 2026. How we handle personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles.

1. Who we are

Vertex ("Vertex", "we", "us") is a web engineering studio based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. We are committed to handling personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

This policy explains what we collect through vertexhq.com.au, why we collect it, how we use and store it, and the choices available to you.

2. Information we collect

We only collect information reasonably necessary to respond to you and deliver our services. This may include:

  • Contact details you submit — name, business name, email address and mobile number.
  • Enquiry details — your trade, your website URL, your main bottleneck, indicative budget and any message you write.
  • Booking information — details you enter when scheduling a call through our third-party scheduling provider.
  • Client project information — logins, hosting access and content you provide so we can perform agreed work.
  • Technical and usage data — IP address, device and browser type, referring pages, pages viewed and time on page, collected automatically.

3. How we collect it

We collect information directly from you when you submit the teardown form, contact form, book a call, email us or phone us. We also collect technical data automatically through server logs and analytics tooling when you browse this site.

We do not deliberately collect sensitive information (such as health, biometric or political information) and ask that you do not send it to us.

4. Why we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry, prepare a teardown, quote or proposal, and schedule a call.
  • To provide, support and improve the services you engage us for.
  • To send service-related communications about your project.
  • To send marketing or follow-up communications where you have consented or where it is otherwise permitted — you can opt out at any time.
  • To operate, secure and improve this website, and to comply with legal obligations.

5. Cookies and analytics

This website may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working correctly and to understand aggregate usage patterns. Analytics data is used in aggregate to improve performance and content; we do not use it to identify individual visitors.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some site features may not function as intended if you do.

6. Disclosure to third parties

We do not sell your personal information. We disclose it only where necessary, including to service providers who help us operate — hosting and infrastructure providers, form and email delivery providers, scheduling providers, analytics providers, advertising platforms where you have engaged us for advertising, and our professional advisers.

Some of these providers may store or process data outside Australia. Where that occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles personal information consistently with the APPs. We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law.

7. Security and retention

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, including access controls and encrypted transmission where available.

No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above or as required by law, then delete or de-identify it.

8. Access, correction and complaints

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing info@vertexhq.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable period and may need to verify your identity first.

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, contact us first and we will investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

9. Third-party links

This website links to third-party sites, including client websites shown in our portfolio and our scheduling provider. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites; please review their own policies.

10. Children

Our services are intended for businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. The current version is always published on this page with its last-updated date.
